- $300 minimum purchase price.
- New and used firearms both qualify, along with any other in-stock item that meets the $300 minimum.
- NFA / Class III items (suppressors, SBRs, SBSs) are eligible for Tennessee residents, with in-store pickup only. Your ATF Form 4 is submitted after the layaway is paid off, not before — approval of a Form 4 is the transfer itself, so the item becomes yours the day it's approved. That's also why it can't be shipped to a dealer in another state: an approved Form 4 hands the item to you here at our counter, with no receiving dealer in between. Plan on the ATF wait beginning at payoff.
- Your item is reserved the moment your deposit clears and pulled from available inventory.
| Charge | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit | 20% down | Non-refundable — due when you start |
| Layaway Fee | $30 | Non-refundable — one-time, per layaway |
| Tennessee Sales Tax | 9.5% | Applies to the item and the layaway fee |
| Credit Card Surcharge | 3% | Applied to each card transaction, including the deposit. No surcharge on cash. |
You may make additional payments at any time during the 90-day term — online or in store. There's no fixed payment schedule; the only requirement is that your balance is paid in full within 90 days of your deposit date.
- If you cancel for any reason, the 20% deposit and the $30 fee are not refunded.
- If the balance is not paid in full within 90 days, the layaway is automatically cancelled and the deposit and fee are forfeited.
- Payments above the deposit and fee come back to you. On a cancelled or expired layaway we refund everything you paid over that amount, to the original card or by check or cash. We do not keep it and we do not convert it to store credit.
- If we can't get the item — a distributor cancels the order or it's discontinued — you get a full refund, including the deposit and the fee. The forfeiture rules only apply when the layaway ends on your side.
- A cancelled or expired layaway returns the item to our inventory for sale.
You are responsible for confirming the firearm is legal to own in your state, county, and city before you place it on layaway. We do not verify state or local restrictions on your behalf.
If you discover after placing the layaway that the firearm cannot be transferred to you because of state or local law, the deposit and fee are still non-refundable — though, as above, anything you paid beyond them is refunded. Please research before you commit.
Once your deposit is placed, the items on your layaway cannot be changed. You can cancel (and forfeit the deposit and fee), but you cannot swap one firearm for another.
When your balance is paid in full, your firearm will be:
- Available for in-store pickup at our Clarksville location, or
- Shipped to your chosen FFL dealer — you provide the FFL's name and phone number and we contact them directly.
Standard transfer rules apply: an ATF Form 4473 and a background check are required wherever you take possession — here in Tennessee if you collect in store, or at your own FFL under your state's rules if we ship. Your firearm cannot be released if you are unable to pass the background check. See our FFL Transfers page for details.
NFA / Class III items are limited to Tennessee residents and are in-store pickup only. They cannot be shipped to another dealer, and the ATF Form 4 is not submitted until the layaway is paid off. See our NFA & Suppressors page for how the Form 4 process works.
